What Recovery Gear Is Everyone Using?

I’d like to hear what everyone is getting and using for recovery gear. I have the ARB Weekender kit, but it didn’t come with a soft shackle. That’s next on my list of things to get. And traction boards!

I didn’t want to spend a lot of Money on my recovery boards, because I’m cheap…..🤣
I mean their just recovery boards, and I’ve checked with some other well known brand names and theses look identical to the more expensive ones.
I have always heard that sometimes manufacturers of a certain item sell their products to multiple companies, and those companies sell at different prices, just putting their name on it and selling it for more….
Not kidding, these look exactly the same as a lot of the more expensive ones….

I posted this in the other thread but I thought I would repost it here so others could see it.
I've got all the standard stuff and I thought I had everything I needed until I got stuck for the first time. The issue is that it can be tough to disassemble the shackles on the front of your Bronco, so it's pretty tough to connect the loop on the end of your tow strap to the Bronco. Luckily someone in the group had a soft shackle which made the whole process so much easier. As soon as I got home, I ordered one online.
Just make sure you know how to properly use it.

I also have included a tie-rod change out kit that Tricky Dick sells. Well put together kit with everything you need to change out a tie-rod plus instructions. Hopefully I'll never have to use it but fairly cheap insurance plus it will be available for who ever needs it. If anyone is interested, I believe he has a Black Friday sale coming up.

9000lb winch, recovery boards, tow strap and kinetic rope along with various soft shackles and soft shackle recovery rings. A pair of tie rods and too many tools to mention.

I have had great luck with Tim at Customsplice.com with my recovery gear.

I started with the bigger Ford Performance recovery kit, then added some soft shackles, a soft shackle pulley ring, BroncBuster kinetic recovery rope, hitch shackle, 12k lb winch and ActionTrax recovery boards. And yes, I’ve had to use most of it for one reason or another. lol 😂

I have this kit in my drawer as a “just in case”. I still don’t want to have to change a tie rod on the trail but at least if I break one I can do it. Highly recommend this kit.

I'm rocking a pair of maxtrax, a Rhino usa tow strap and I have 2 hard shackles up front and a tow hitch hard shackle. Also have a tire repair kit in my drawer.

I doubt I’ll have my winch on before the trip. Still tossing around the idea of a hidden winch mount or a bumper mount. 🤷🏼♂️

This is great. You can never be too prepared! I’m going to get a few of the things you all have mentioned. Peace of mind is essential for a good time.

This is all really good information… I have yet to invest in recovery stuff, as OB1 has not been seriously off-road yet…

I really wish there was a good winch option for my rig without having to move oil cooler, and not blocking the camera….

I did pick up a pair of BaoFeng GM-15 pro radios, so I’ve at least broken the ice…

I have never heard of a GlueTread side wall repair kit!
what exactly does that do, or I should say how does it repair a side wall of a tire?

I got one of those portable compressors and this baby cranks! I just have to remember to wear gloves when operating it. The fittings get very HOT.

I have a Rough Country 12K winch, and a portable air compressor, but I'm swapping the air compressor for a hard mounted ARB one. Lastly, I have two sets of factory tie rod replacements and all the tools to do a tie rod swap.
