Added Accessories that help Off-Roading

I found that when I went to Drummond Island on my first trip, I discovered that the Roll Bar Grab Handles that I had were the hanging soft ones, now since the driver holds onto the steering wheel, there is no issue there, however if you have a passenger you’ll find that the grab handles in the Bronco are not placed in a good area to hold on to, one near the shifter and one on the dash right hand side.

The grab handles that I installed up on the Roll Bar just before the Drummond Island trip, did not perform the way I had expected them to, they are too flimsy and still make your passengers rock all over the place, they are great for just driving and holding onto something to support your arm.

What I did was add a second set, to the Roll Bar (Front & Rear Seats) which are solid metal ones, and that made a big difference for your passenger to hold onto and not be rocked around the Bronco….




The pictures of the Blue grab handles are the first set I bought, the red are the solid metal ones that I added later….. both front and rear seats!!!

Over the many years of Off-Roading I’ve done, I found that one very important item would be an Air Compressor, there are expensive ones and cheap ones out there, depending upon what you can afford.

The higher end ones like “ABR” will do the job and at a much quicker rate than the lower end ones. I have a lower end one that is a 120V but I carry with me a 2,000 watt inverter that runs on 12V …… then I have Battery cable wire running straight from the Battery with a cut off switch.

I also carry with me “not that it’s needed at Moab” a 16” chainsaw that also runs off the inverter, if we ever need it on a trail.

pretty much anything that runs 120 I can bring with me.




I kind of went off the grid there for a second, just saying a compressor is something you’ll need some day, even though if you do not have one there are many of us that do, and we can always help out!!

Where did you get your solid ones?

I have searched everywhere and I can’t seem to find the 4 pc. front and rear seat Grab bar Handles.
I believe I either got them from eBay or Amazon under the heading “Bronco Grab Bar Handles” or “Bronco Metal Grab Bar Handles.”
I have found the front seat ones but I can’t seem to find the rear seat ones, they came together as a set…….
I know the ones I got came from China, but it didn’t take too long to get them, and it was much cheaper.

I guess tires are kind of an Offroad accessory. Will need to trim the front rock rails and install the JKS max tire clearance kit. Also added the Apex Performance 3.0 rapid tire deflators.

Very nice roof rack, just out of curiosity what is the manufacture of the overland roof rack you have there?
Your Bronco looks very sharp, I would say it kinda looks like Iconic Silver, but it looks more like it's Cactus Gray?
The sun changes the color a little bit with it shining on it.

Thanks! It is made by Gobi. I actually have that one for sale right now. Going with another Gobi that is a little more compatible with the soft top.
