Rear Shock Skid Plates

I would think about “Rear Shock Skid Plates,” because I can tell you after going to Drummond Island, I took a lot of damage to the lower end of the shock mount and bolts that hold the lower end of the shocks in place….
There are different styles of plates, that can cover even the lower back end of the trailing arm, or just cover the rear shock mount and bolts.
I’ve seen them for sale at eBay and Amazon, just do a little searching for them at your favorite place to shop.
Deano Bronc had a good suggestion from jcoffroad that I have posted below, they seem to cover more than the shock mount end.

These may do a better job of protecting the ears on the shock braces.

I’ve been running some from SRQ for over a year. They have been abused plenty. No sheared bolts or other damage.

Here are a couple photos. The scratches have been filled in by rust inhibitor and dirt stuck to that.

I beat the crap out of my rear shock mounts at Super Celebration East 2022. These are a must have for rock crawling.

They look pretty stout. Did you purchase them bare or with the zinc coating? I would think the coating would get scrapped off eventually so not sure if the extra cost is worth it.
How are they holding up?

Ended up just ordering a set of these plus their diff skid plate. If I regularly rock crawled, I might have gone with something like TechnicalDisaster has. I love how strong they are but couldn't justify the extra money considering what my normal use would be.

The shock skids were $117 with the Cyber Monday discount. That's a great price.

I tried getting them for that price and they were still at $131.00 even when I added them to the cart and proceeded to checkout…….
I’ll keep my eyes on them and see if anything changes…

$130 is a pretty goods price. I’ve had DV8 on my Jeep and they have great customer service. They should do well.

I got these from DV8 recently. Also, I got a pair of RCI front cross-member skid plates. I hope to have most of these on my Bronco by the time I go to Moab, but the one that requires me to drop the gas tank may wait.

I just got done installing one of them this past Saturday, unfortunately I worked most of the day and on Sunday we ended up with just over an inch of snow and the high temp was only 31° so I will install the second one today after work…..
The 122 ft. lbs not too bad…….
but……..
That 350 ft. lbs is a back breaker, but at least I got the one done, and I’m only a little soar still…..

Yep, I have all those to install too except I've already installed the crossmember braces. The weather is getting decent around here so hopefully get at least the shock skids installed this weekend.
